 Project Justification


At the time this project was conceived, there was no other Power Generation Project under

planning in Bhavnagar District as well as in the neighboring Districts.

Demand of Saurashtra region at the time was more than 1500 MW.

Availability of Lignite reserve for Power Project in the District: 130 MMT.

Hence, setting up of this project with capacity as 500 MW (2 X 250 MW) was planned.
